Subject: Re: [cam] accessing registries
Farrukh, Supplemental to this - we've known for a while we can do this technically with the registry (BTW - UID = External ID in registry parlance), but the key thing is having agreement on a uniform XML representation of noun semantics in the registry. Clearly without that interoperability across industry dictionaries is sparodic at best. Being able to show industry groups that we have all these pieces designed, tested and harmonized should incentive them to select our approach for their implementations. Thanks, DW. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Farrukh Najmi" <Farrukh.Najmi@Sun.COM> To: "Farrukh Najmi" <Farrukh.Najmi@Sun.COM> Cc: "Duane Nickull" <dnickull@adobe.com>; <martin.me.roberts@bt.com>; <cam@lists.oasis-open.org> Sent: Monday, January 19, 2004 11:31 AM Subject: Re: [cam] accessing registries > Farrukh Najmi wrote: > > > Duane Nickull wrote: > > > >> > >> Martin: > >> > >> Comments inline: > >> > >> martin.me.roberts@bt.com wrote: > >> > >>> One current weakness in the CAM spec is accessing registry data. > >>> There does not seem to be a standard for this access or a > >>> description of the sort of data that might be retrieved from a > >>> registry. > >>> > >> Yes there is.
