Subject: RE: [cam] Microsoft Office Information Bridge Framework & Context
Hi Folks The examples MS have given seem to tie this into Smart Tags [not something I've really looked at in any detail]. So I get an e-mail saying contact David Webber of drrw re ..... SmartTags [somehow] recognises drrw for me, I can then right click on the drrw tag and be offered a menu of options. These menus tie through an IBF server to fire web services. As I read it the IBF server 'engine' holds meta data to tie the smart tags to web services, I'd guess this is also where security would be applied. So I think the context in IBF would be I'd get a menu on say faults raised by drrw, spend with drrw etc. So I don't see any relationship with CAM. Right now there's only limited ways to associate processes and actions with filetypes. If they've opened up that part of the desktop to XML scripting - definately interesting. One immediate gotcha though is security. A rogue process could modify this and then cause a hidden action to occur.
