Subject: RE: [dita] Chair's quote--pls review
Some rearrangement to consider: Don Day, Chair of the OASIS DITA Technical Committee, commented on new features in DITA 1.2, which "greatly expand opportunities for using DITA as a content standard. This new version incorporates community suggestions that will help content owners to create and deliver more kinds of information in more ways than ever with DITA. The constraints mechanism can be used to remove unneeded tags from the authoring environment, depending on the type of document. Managing and reusing content is more efficient with indirect "keyref" addressing using user-defined keys, and with extensions to conref, such as pushing updates into already published content. DITA 1.2 provides support for educational applications through the new Learning and Training specialization, and the new Hazard specialization supports labeling for product safety applications. > -----Original Message----- > From: Don Day [mailto:donday@bga.com] > Sent: Thursday, December 02, 2010 12:05 AM > To: dita@lists.oasis-open.org > Subject: [dita] Chair's quote--pls review > > Don Day, Chair of the OASIS DITA Technical Committee through > its previous works as well, reflected on the significance of > DITA 1.2: "This new version of DITA incorporates community > suggestions that create wider usage opportunities for DITA as > a content standard.
