In order to change it, you have to override > a small number of templates. Look in chunk-common for an example. Yes, I've overriden two templates to chunk by chapters. In fact, something interesting could be to put the splitting choice in a single template (such as "chunk") and make the chunking template engine ("process-chunk-element") use the chunk template result.
