Ie. my thoughts went like this: - If it's not in /etc/ it doesn't look like it's meant to be tampered with...? - What's texmf? "TeX MetaFont"? What does that have to do with PassiveTeX? - What does web2c have to do with this? Would I need to recompile TeX for this to work? Which in sum made me decide not to try to tamper with anything. :-)
