Subject: Re: [docbook-apps] alignment of second column on index page
What you are seeing is that the German word for Index, Stichwortverzeichnis, does not fit in the horizontal space of the first column in the index. What you want is for the title to span across both columns, pushing down the second column along with the first. Unfortunately, that kind of column spanning is hard to do in the DocBook stylesheets because the block with the span property must be outside of all other blocks, which isn't the case for titles. I think the easiest solution is to reduce the font size of the index "title" element. You can do that by changing the titlepage spec file for the index title pages, and then rebuilding the titlepage templates. See this reference for how to do that: http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/TitlePagePrint.html Bob Stayton Sagehill Enterprises DocBook Consulting bobs@sagehill.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roger Meier" <roger@bufferoverflow.ch> To: <docbook-apps@lists.oasis-open.org> Sent: Monday, August 02, 2004 12:05 PM Subject: [docbook-apps] alignment of second column on index page > hello > > I have a problem with the alignment of the second column > on the index page in my pdf document(page 53 on the attached file). > It overlaps the title of the indexpage. > Does anybody know how to fix this problem ? > > I use the DocBook XSL Stylesheets V1.64.1 from norman walsh, > xsltproc 1.1.5 and fop 0.20.5. > > thank you very much > > roger meier > > > sorry, about my english....
