Subject: need help with browser id test
Hi all, The stylesheet developers are debating whether the next generation of XSL stylesheets for HTML output should eliminate named anchors like <a name="foo"> in favor of using the recommended id attribute <h1 id="foo"> for linking. It appears that only very old browsers cannot link to an id, but I don't have many old browsers available for testing. So I've posted a quick test on my website. If you click on this link, you should see "My browser worked!". If instead you see "My Browser Failed", then the link could not find the id attribute in the HTML and it left you at the top of the HTML file. Could you send us information about any browser versions that fail? If you have access to older browsers, that would be most useful. Thanks. http://www.sagehill.net/test/idtest.html#a1s2 Bob Stayton Sagehill Enterprises DocBook Consulting bobs@sagehill.net
