Agreed. It would be helpful for lots of purposes. I'm committed to a docbook->daisy transform and would need this. I am fairly convinced that Norm|Bob (and maybe others) have something like this tucked away somewhere. I spent about 3 hours this afternoon with the sun xmlgen, and failed miserably to get it to produce an instance. regards DaveP >
