With FOP 0.93, the <?dbfo
pgwide=”1”?> processing instructions works within
<example> but not within <informalexample>. I don’t know why.

I’d like to have some program examples extend the full
width of the page in PDF output. I thought I could put the
<programlisting> elements within an <example> or
<informalexample> element, and set the pgwide attribute to 1 (which you
can do with tables and figures). However, <example> and
<informalexample> don’t support the pgwide attribute.
As a temporary workaround, I’m inclined to put the
<programlisting> inside a <table> or <figure> and set the
pgwide attribute.
Has anyone else found another simpler way to create
page-wide program examples?
