Subject: 10/4/2004: NOF -or- General Exception
One note for Friday's meeting: we recognize that under specific circumstances either an NOF or general exception may be sent. They MAY include: * Notification of Failure (NOF) o When you are not under control (i.e. you are waiting for a business message or a signal) but the transaction should stop. This equates to "failed business control". o You choose not to business retry (and you can retry). o In several circumstances is time based * General exception o When you are under control o You have isIntelligibleCheckRequired and an RA has been sent, but something fails in processing. This is assuming that an AA is required, processing has begun but not completed, and an AA has not yet been sent. o You don't require isIntelligibleCheckRequired and an RA has been sent, but something fails in processing. An AA may or may not be required later. o You don't have signals required and you need to notify your partner of a problem. Just some random initial thoughts from Hima and I as we think through this prior to Friday's meeting. Thank you.
