Week 19 is a lot harder for me, possibly in CET evening time (I'm travelling, but could call in from hotel room), but Ian is unavailable and it would be best to have him participate. The point about needing time to announce this is right too . If we move the Webinars to Early June (4-8 June) so Ian is back and we all have more time to prepare this right, I wouldn't complain. Perhaps ebMS3 is even closer to finish? Since this is a rare opportunity for ebXML, it is better to do this right than to stick to the timeframe. What do other people think. Presenter wise I am still trying to persuade people to be involved. - I know that Pim may have a scheduling issue from previous e-mails. I am trying to draft soemthing over the next few days so that I can give you all a better feel for the next JC session (I can not be present, I am stuck in the currently pleasntly Spring like UK!!) I have the following abstracts <see below> with a total of four webinars. Please pick a day in the week of below> 30 April - 4 May. Should we move forward one week to 7 - 11 May for more outreach, as we are getting late? This is enough to set the webinars once you tell me the exact day and which time frame you would like. FYI: Other groups have said that 10:00 - 11:00AM EDT is OK for all continents? Do we still want to keep 2 time slots to be live? Remember, you can download after the live demo at any time. Most other webinars set on one time as the Asian participants tend to download vs. the cost of participating live. Presenter: 'Pim would you like to present/intro from the more usage/deployment side as opposed to myself <Ian Jones>/Jacques/Pete Wentzel talking from the technical side.' Abstract: Discover what is new and different for the OASIS ebXML Messaging Services TC v3.0 Standard from the team working on its development and introduction. The OASIS ebXML Message Service is one of the most widely used parts of the ebXML framework. Its adoption has increased steadily over the years, with large scale deployments in healthcare and automotive industries, trade and government, especially in Europe and Asia. Vendor support has also increased, with Oracle and IBM now supporting it in their commercial products and three new open source implementations released in the last year alone. In building on web services support in v2.0, the new OASIS ebXML Messaging Services v3.0 continues the convergence of ebXML framework and emerging web services specifications. The new 3.0 version leverages a number of key Web Services technologies, such as Web Service Security and Web Services Reliable Messaging. It also includes new facilities for messaging pulling to allow for firewall communication issues and hub and spoke trading models. It also allows the definition and control of a channel like mechanism to segregate messages. The new ebMS3 specification is already implemented by the ECALGA and COXEC trading communities in Japan, and is being reviewed by HL7. A key motivator in all three cases was the new Pull feature, which greatly facilitates access to B2B networks for small organizations. ************************************************************** Title: OASIS ebXML Registry v3.0 Standards: Overview, adoption, applications, and profiles Presenter names (3): Kathryn Breininger Internet Librarian The Boeing Company Photo: Use the one from the podcast: http://www.ebxml.org/images/breininger.jpg Farrukh Najmi CEO and Principal Architect Wellfleet Software Corporation Photo: (use the one from the podcast: http://www.ebxml.org/images/farrukh.png) Carl Mattocks Consultant: ITIL Application Knowledge Management MetLife Abstract: Discover the advantages of the OASIS ebXML Registry v3.0 Standards from the people who developed them. Here is the lay of the land as it stands right now. We've surmised we could get most of the details set by 9 April 2007 so we schedule and promote the webinars for the week of 30 April 2007. We can also use the OASIS Symposium as a promotional event. We have received webinar abstracts, slots if provided, and other presenter and picture details (and OPEN items for action): * CPP/A: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ebxml-jc/email/archives/200704/ msg00001.html o OPEN: Time slot, presenter and picture are pending. * ebBP: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ebxml-bp/200703/msg00011.html (on ebBP list) o No preference on times. If I present, you can use my OASIS symposium biography. o OPEN-Picture (yuck). o **Note: I intend to ask a few adopters to participate in our webinar. * Messaging: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ebxml-jc/email/archives/200704/ msg00000.html o Time slot depends on availability and presenter. o OPEN-Presenter or picture still to be provided. * Registry/Repository: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ebxml-jc/email/archives/200703/ msg00017.html o Time slot and presenters with title and photos provided. * IIC: OPEN ====== OPEN: Dee and Carol, I'd defer to your expertise on relevant names for Titles to catch attention and capture the intent. OPEN: Dee and Carol, I'd also suggest an overview brief. Pim, could you assist? OPEN: Is anyone willing to sponsor calls for their webinars for toll free for US? OPEN: Is anyone willing to sponsor a banner on webservices.org? ====== Webinar Notes.... * ebMS: Ian, you might provide more ticklers for ebMS on indicators on adoption. In addition, ebMS v2.0 also supported web services. This may need a bit of clarification in your abstract. Toot your own horn. * CPPA: Dale, you could add a sentence or two about the value of what is being added - for example the capability to support different document exchange, to connect the business and technical contract, to expand functionality important for use in web services, etc. OASIS Symposium: On OASIS Symposium, Kathryn and I will be present. Dale is TBD. Ian is probably not. Do we wish to meet and when? How about Tuesday morning for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the event lobby (see: http://www.oasis-open.org/events/symposium/2007/venue.php). OPEN: JC members please respond.
