Subject: CN reference to be considered
Friends, We had a great workshop in Mexico City last week. Norm and I can share the highlights today on our call. Eliot sent us a note that I am forwarding to you below regarding an ISO reference we may wish to consider for the committee note. FWIW, as a standards body, your Committee Note might want to reference ISO 25964, the international standard for information retrieval thesauri. As described here, a thesaurus is composed by at least three elements: 1-a list of words (or terms), 2-the relationship amongst the words (or terms), indicated by their hierarchical relative position (e.g. parent/broader term; child/narrower term, synonym, etc.), 3-a set of rules on how to use the thesaurus.
