Subject: RE: ECF 4.1 and NIEM

Good idea. I don’t think that would be a problem since NIEM 2.1 is backwardly compatible with NIEM 2.0.

Jim,

Is it possible to change the version of NIEM used in ECF 4.1 without having to consider it a major version change and hence also have to change the version number?

In section 1.3.1 National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) it states:

ECF 4.0 uses the [NIEM] version 2.0 where the structures and definitions correspond to the requirements of ECF 4.0

NIEM 2.0 is just so old. Is it possible that ECF 4.1 could use NIEM 2.1 instead of NIEM 2.0?

Gary

Feedback on ECF 4.1 working drafts attached.

I sent this out earlier today, but it looks like it did not get through. If this is a duplicate, I apologize.
