OASIS News 16 September 2002 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments and activities for the XML interoperability consortium. --------------------------------------------------------- OASIS Members to Develop Web Services Management Protocol On 10 September, the new OASIS Management Protocol Technical Committee was publicly announced. The TC will work to facilitate distributed systems management over the Internet, enabling businesses to manage their own Web services and oversee their interaction with services offered by other companies. The OASIS Management Protocol will be designed to manage desktops, services, and networks across an enterprise or Internet environment. http://www.oasis-open.org/news/oasis_news_09_10_02.shtml --------------------------------------------------------- UDDI Approved As OASIS Committee Specs The OASIS UDDI Specification TC has approved UDDI v2, UDDI v3, and Schema Centric Canonicalization as OASIS Committee Specifications. UDDI enables companies and applications to dynamically find and use Web services with preferred applications. The TC intends to submit UDDI v2 to the OASIS membership at-large for voting as an OASIS Standard. --------------------------------------------------------- EML v2 Becomes OASIS Committee Spec OASIS Election and Voter Services TC has approved EML version 2 as a Committee Specification. EML will allow for the exchange of structured election and voter services information. http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/election/ --------------------------------------------------------- ebXML Marketing Team Organizes The OASIS-UN/CEFACT Joint Marketing Team (JMT) for ebXML formed four subcommittees to promote ebXML solutions for mission-critical Web services: Industry Outreach; Website and Communications; Conferences and Seminars; and Media Relations. Members of OASIS and/or UN/CEFACT are strongly encouraged join an ebXML JMT subcommittee. Subscribers to this public list will work together to identify candidate solutions for communicating required security tokens and quality of protection for a Web service, taking advantage of the common service definition tools, such as WSDL.
