New OASIS Sponsor Benefit: PR on XML.org

Company press releases from OASIS Sponsor members will soon be featured
on the XML.org homepage. OASIS provides XML.org as a public resource of
information on how XML is used in specific industries and applications.
The Web site currently enjoys more
than 375,000 page views each month. To take advantage of this new
benefit, OASIS Sponsor level members are encouraged to add
"oasissponsornews@xml.org" to their PR distribution lists for automatic
inclusion on the XML.org website. If your company is not an OASIS
Sponsor, but you would like to take advantage of this promotional

e-Gov Technical Committee at OASIS

A Call for Participation has been issued for the new OASIS e-Gov
Technical Committee (e-Gov TC). The primary goals of the TC is to foster
e-government by adopting and developing XML-based standards through
three objectives; provide a forum for Governments internationally to
voice their needs and requirements with respect to XML-based standards,
provide a mechanism for the creation of best practice documents relative
to the adoption of OASIS specs/standards within Governments
internationally and to promote the adoption of OASIS specs/standards
within Governments through OASIS channels.

The first meeting of the e-Government TC will be held 13 December in
Baltimore at XML 2002. Please contact the TC chair for additional
information.
