OASIS News 28 October 2002 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments and activities for the XML interoperability consortium. --------------------------------------------------------- Last Call: Vote on the SAML and ebXML CPPA specs This is a reminder that voting to approve the SAML and ebXML CPPA specs as OASIS Standards ends on 31 October. The voting representative of each OASIS member organization has received the Call For Vote with instructions for voting. PKI Forum (http://www.pkiforum.org/) fosters support for standards-based, interoperable public-key infrastructure (PKI) as a foundation for secure transactions in e-business applications. Members of OASIS will be eligible to participate fully in the work of PKI Forum--at no additional cost. PKI Forum will hold their quarterly conference in Dallas, 5-7 Nov. Initial plans call for XML.org Focus Areas for Insurance, Human Resources, Printing/Publishing, Security, Defense, Financial Services, and Localization. Specific Focus Area sponsorships are available to OASIS members only. Contact dale.waldt@oasis-open.org for details. --------------------------------------------------------- OASIS Members, Entrust, DataPower, IONA, NIST, webMethods, TIBCO, Verisign, and Others Collaborate on Digital Signature Services On 24 October, the Consortium publicly announced the formation of the OASIS Digital Signature Services Technical Committee that will work to develop open XML protocols for digital signature and cryptographic timestamping services.
