[OASIS members] Press Release to Announce SAML as OASIS Standard

OASIS Members:

In anticipation of a favorable outcome of the October voting, the
Consortium is in the process of drafting a press release to announce
SAML as an OASIS Standard. We have targeted Tuesday, 2 November, for
distribution.

While OASIS deeply appreciates the contributions of all members to our
technical work, we have a policy to list only Sponsor member companies
in announcements directed to the press. The higher Sponsor member dues
underwrite the cost of promotional activities such as press releases.
All OASIS Security Services TC members--Sponsors, Contributors, and
Individuals--will be listed in OASIS member communications and on the
OASIS web site.

The "SAML Becomes OASIS Standard" press release, therefore, will include
the following statement:

"SAML was developed by Entrust, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Netegrity, Oblix,
OpenNetwork, RSA Security, Sun Microsystems, BEA Systems, Verisign, and
other members of the OASIS Security Services Technical Committee."

If you represent a company listed above, please notify me only if you do
NOT wish to have your company name featured. If you would like to send a
quote on behalf of your company in support of SAML, please email that to
me, including a name and title at your company to whom the quote can be
attributed.

If you are a Sponsor member, but not active in the TC, and you would
like to submit a company quote in support of SAML as an OASIS Standard,
please email your quote to me, including a name and title at your
company to whom the quote can be attributed.

If your company was represented on the OASIS Security Services TC but is
not a Sponsor member and you would like to be featured in the press
release, please contact Scott McGrath (scott.mcgrath@oasis-open.org)
immediately for information on upgrading your membership to take
advantage of this promotional benefit.
