OASIS HumanMarkup TC Approves Spec

The OASIS HumanMarkup TC has voted unanimously to approve its
huml-primary-base-1.0 document as a Committee Specification. The TC has
begun a 30-day
public review period of the specification, which will conclude 12
December 2002, comments and feedback are requested.

Tax XML TC Is Coming to OASIS

A Call for Participation has been issued for the new OASIS Tax XML TC.
The Tax XML initiative will include researching and analyzing personal
and business tax reporting & compliance information in order to develop
common XML vocabularies and templates to facilitate interoperability.

IDEAlliance XML 2002 Momentum Is Growing

At last count, at least 60 OASIS members will be presenting at XML 2002
in Baltimore. This will be a great event and an opportune time to make a
press release. If you are an OASIS sponsor and your company plans to
make an announcement at XML
2002, please be sure to send the press releases to
dee.schur@oasis-open.org to be posted on
XML.org, www.xml.org, in the Vendor News section.

Mark your calendars now for the OASIS reception to be held at XML 2002
in the evening of Wednesday, 11 December, details to follow.

Also, the final schedule of all TC meetings being held at XML 2002 will
be posted on Monday, 25 November in

ebXML Adoption Update Now Available

The OASIS UN/CEFACT Joint Marketing Team for ebXML has published version
1.0 of the ebXML Adoption Update, a listing of ebXML implementations,
projects, products, and industry initiatives from around the world.
Thanks to Monica Martin of Drake Certivo, co-chair of the ebXML Industry
Outreach Subcommittee, for creating this ebXML Adoption Update with
input from David Webber of XML Global, Alan Kotok of DISA, and other
members of the ebXML JMT Steering Committee.

2-4 Dec--Pim van der Eijk will make a presentation at e-Nordic 2002 in
Oslo, Norway
e-Nordic 2002 is an invitation only event offering senior e-business
professionals a unique networking and learning opportunity.

4 Dec--Pim van der Eijk will make a 'UBL and ebXML' presentation at
Eurofer in Brussels, Belgium.
Eurofer is the European Confederation of Iron and Steel Industries.

8-13 Dec--Karl Best will present an OASIS Standards Update at XML 2002
in Baltimore, Maryland. Several member speakers are on the agenda.

10 Dec--OASIS members; Jouko Salonen, CEO Republica, and John Borras,
