Announcing Board of Directors Special Election Results

OASIS members,

On behalf of the entire OASIS organization, I am pleased to announce the
results of the 2003 OASIS Board of Directors Special Election.

The 3 following candidates have been elected to a seat on the Board of
Directors:

Michael Weiner, IBM, will hold a seat until the 2005 Annual Election

Holding a seat until the 2004 Annual Election will be:
Frederick Hirsch, Nokia 
Jeff Mischkinsky, Oracle

On November 25 2003, the new Board members will join existing directors
whose seats expire in 2004, Edward Cobb of BEA, Colin Evans of Intel, and
Laura Walker of The Federal Reserve System as well as those directors whose
seat expires in 2005, John Borras, UK Office of e-Envoy, UK Cabinet, Eduardo
Gutentag, Sun Microsystems, Jim Hughes, Hewlett-Packard and Christopher
Kurt, Microsoft. Additionally, OASIS CEO & President Patrick Gannon will
assume his appointed Board seat.

We would also like to thank each and every one of the 10 candidates whose
time, talents, and commitment to the Consortium made this such an exciting
and challenging election. We will rely on all the nominees for their
continued, active support of the work of OASIS as we move forward together.

Finally, we would like to congratulate all the members of OASIS who
participated in the election process, by raising issues for the candidates,
evaluating qualifications, making tough decisions, and casting ballots.

It was the most successful election in the history of the Consortium--both
in terms of the number of nominees and voting members--and it's a great way
to mark the ten-year anniversary of OASIS.
