Sorry I wasn't able to make the call this week, I have been out of US on business. From the notes I can see that there were questions regarding the Novell/ MS announcement. I am finding that many are anxious to know more details. May I suggest for the moment that you look at the FAQ information. Most of the questions that I have been receiving have been addressed there: www.novell.com/linux/microsoft/faq_opensource.html.
Talk to you at the next meeting.
regards,
Alan Clark

Minutes =======
The minutes of 31st October were approved. It was noted that the email had the wrong title but the contents were correct.
ODF Focus Area ==============
Don posted the two papers as agreed last week:
1) "Opportunities for innovation with OpenDocument Format XML" - an IBM White Paper. 2) "XForms and OpenDocument in OpenOffice.org" -- by J. David Eisenberg
White Paper ===========
Erwin had not yet received the updates on the French version. The final draft of the English version had been circulated to the committee, it was agreed that the committee should review by the end of Thursday and confirm their agreement via the email list.
Presentation ============
Erwin had been working on speaker's notes but it was difficult when you know the subject well. He had included a suggestion that anyone with questions should contact a member of the Adoption TC. Gary raised whether or not there should be a slide on the "Alien Attribute" tag. It was agreed that this was important information and Gary would summarise his thoughts in an email to the list. As to the presentation again it was agreed that the committee should review by the end of Thursday and confirm their agreement via the email list
ODF in Action =============
Louis would approach Carol to see if this could be part of the OASIS conference in San Diego in April. Don had approached a colleague regarding on the IBM sponsored ODF Accessibility developer contest but had no feedback yet.
Other Deliverables ==================
Don suggested we should consider further deliverables. Erwin would send a reminder to the team to stimulate discussion.
Round Table ===========
There was a general discussion on the Novell / Microsoft deal - it was noted that Alan Clark wasn't present to address some of the questions raised.
The Polish parliament would be holding a session on Open Standards on Wednesday 8th and OASIS would be giving a presentation. The Agenda looked very positive.
The meeting was adjourned at this stage.
