Subject: ODF Adoption TC Call - 5 December 2006 - Minutes
Attendees ========= Marino Marcich Gary Edwards Erwin Tenhumberg Louis Surez-Potts Charles Schulz Alan Clark Logistics ========= We achieved a quorum. The minutes got accepted. Deliverables ============ White Papers ------------ The attendees of the call agreed that the white papers are ready for publication. Erwin will publish the white papers. Article for Novatica/Upgrade ---------------------------- Louis sent the article to Don for review. Basically it's a version of what Louis presented in Korea. The article has about 15 pages. ISO now 60.60 ------------- Nothing about the ISO completion on OpenOffice.org home page yet. Louis will post something. Is the spec available for free? Where should we point people to? Is the ISO number listed on OASIS site? Erwin will check with Michael Brauer. "ODF in action" --------------- There were no updates regarding the "ODF in action" plan. Ideas for new deliverables ========================== ODF Roadmap ----------- "Hint" to what ODF 1.2 would look like (future, capabilities, collaboration with Open XML) ODF interoperabiltiy white paper -------------------------------- There are claims that ODF is not robust enough. A computer magazine article tested different applications and found compatibility issues. Meta data SC talked about an interoperability "base line". Thus a document that talks about interoperability in the ODF context would be useful. Rebuttals / FAQ --------------- An FAQ-like set of rebuttals would be useful to counter typical ODF-related claims. ODF news ======== ComputerWorld article on MS lobbying picked up by Andy Updegrove: http://www.consortiuminfo.org/standardsblog/article.php?story=20061204084504239
