Subject: RE: [odf-adoption] OASIS ODF Adoption TC Coordination - Agenda &Conference Call Number for June 2, 2009
Hi, Probably I won't be able to participate in today's call due to another meeting... A few updates: - As mentioned by Marino, there is a news item on OSOR on the city of Anderlecht (600 desktops, population 100 000) having moved to ODF as the default format for editable documents. City of Charleroi (1600 desktops, population 200 000) and Vorst may follow (not sure if they only migrate to OOo, or set ODF as a standard format as well) - White paper on digital signatures Hopefully I'm able to upload a first draft by the end of the week, keeps slipping due to workload... The idea is to create a general paper (short reminder on what ODF is, some more non-technical stuff on digital signatures, what's the benefit for managers and end-users...), and perhaps add a technical code example in java and .Net on signing ODF docs (could also be part of the "educational track") - Interop event The Hague: ongoing discussion with Rob and the organizers Michiel Leenaars/Fabrice Mous on the practical aspects of the afternoon session(s): who's able to test what implementation, how to track issues etc Rob pointed out that the representatives from implementers/vendors might not be the technical guys, but if we have enough volunteers and a copy of their software, we can test their implementations and hand them over the issue list Question: - OOoCon 2009 ODF Day: was there a call for paper yet ? Anyway, we (= the 3 ODF TC's) definitely should apply for a session / room like we had in Beijing, and I'm willing to write an initial summary for the OOo Conference Probably we can use the lessons learnt from the The Hague event as input. So we need to have an issue tracker and at least prepare some test documents / scenarios before the event starts. IF by then we would have ODF 1.2 as an OASIS standard AND implementation(s) supporting the new features like RDF Meta Data, THEN that would be a very interesting thing to test... (But let's not forget about the ODF 1.1 implementations) Best regards, Bart ________________________________________ From: donald_harbison@us.ibm.com [mailto:donald_harbison@us.ibm.com] Sent: maandag 1 juni 2009 21:29 To: odf-adoption@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: [odf-adoption] OASIS ODF Adoption TC Coordination - Agenda & Conference Call Number for June 2, 2009 Dear TC Members, Please find the proposed agenda for the June 2 ODF Adoption TC below.
