Subject: Open Office XML Format TC Meeting Minutes 12-July-04
MINUTES OF THE OASIS OPEN OFFICE XML FORMAT TC MEETING JULY, THE 12TH, 2004, 3PM GMT – 3:40PM GMT Attendees --------- Doug Alberg <doug.alberg@boeing.com>, Boeing Patrick Durusau <Patrick.Durusau@sbl-site.org>, Society of Biblical Literature Gary Edwards <garyedwards@yahoo.com> David Faure <faure@kde.org> Tom Magliery <tom.magliery@blastradius.com>, Blast Readius Daniel Vogelheim <daniel.vogelheim@sun.com>, Sun Microsystems Acceptance of Minutes of the June, the 21st meeting -------------------------------------------------- - The attending TC members unanimously accepted the minutes. Action Items ------------ none Clarify: Restart Numbering ------------ The TC discussed the meaning of text:restart-numbering and text:start-value attributes for list items. It was agreed that the current description needs clarification. In particular, it is unclear which attribute affects which levels of the list, and whether this is consistent with the same attributes for outline numbering. Daniel has an action item to resolve these issues and make a proposal. The specification also mentions numbering behaviour for ordered and unordered lists. Since this was unified into general purpose lists, with numbering/bullets being styling only, this reference does not make much sense. It was unanimously agreed to remove the reference to ordered/unordered list from the numbering description. Proposal: Image Filters ------------ It was agreed that we should align the image filters proposal with SVG's filter effects. David will look into this and rework the proposal, if possible. Clarify: Mime-Types for Directories in Manifest ------------ It was discussed whether directories that have no inherent semantics should receive a MIME type and/or an entry in the manifest. It was agreed that such entries should not receive a manifest entry at all. Example: An embedded object is stored in a directory. In this case the directory receives a manifest entry containing the MIME type of the object. Example: The implementation puts all images into a 'Pictures' subdirectory. As this directory has only adminstrative purpose, it will not receive an entry in the manifest at all. (The images themselves of course do.) Clarify: Diagonal Widths ------------ It was discussed whether the style:diagonal-*-widths attribute should be renamed from the plural form to singular (*-width). It was agreed not to, because they may indeed refer to multiple widths. It was then discussed whether the style:border-width attributes would be renamed to their plural forms for consistency. It was agreed not to, as it doesn't seem enough of a problem to justify renaming agreed-upon attributes in the current fixup phase. Clarify: Stroke Dashes ------------ The TC calirified that the name of the property containing a sequence of stroke dash style names is: draw:stroke-dash-names Proposal: text:display as text style attribute ------------ The TC discussed the proposal to allow a text:display=true|none property as a character property. This was extended to also allow a condition for displaying text, similar to e.g. text sections. I.e., a character property text:display=true|condition|none is introduced, plus an attribute text:condition in case text:display=condition. The TC unanimously agreed to this extended proposal. Other ------------ David is considering a proposal to add regular polygon shapes. Daniel will make the spec edits for the items in these minutes. New Action Items ---------------- Daniel has an action item to resolve these issues and make a proposal. David will look into this and rework the proposal, if possible. Daniel Vogelheim
