Subject: RE: [office] Signing documents and changes
It's generally not possible to reject changes and somehow have the signature of the document that was the base for changes work on the result. The change-tracked document version won't have the original signature in its package -- no OpenOffice-lineage implementation will do that. Generally, no META-INF/documentsignatures.xml is carried forward into an altered document. If it is, the signature will be declared unverifiable on loading into a signature-aware consumer. The document can be opened anyhow, of course, but a save of the file will not have any META-INF/documentsignatures.xml signature unless a new signing is done. Also, because the package with changes rejected will be different that the original in various signature-relevant ways, it doesn't work to try to splice the original META-INF/documentsignatures.xml back in either. And, of course, if that file is still available, so should be the complete signed version [;<). -----Original Message----- From: office@lists.oasis-open.org [mailto:office@lists.oasis-open.org] On Behalf Of Patrick Durusau Sent: Monday, February 27, 2012 08:45 To: 'ODF TC List' Subject: [office] Signing documents and changes Greetings! Interesting discussion about signing documents and change tracking this morning! Question: Is it possible to back out changes so that an original signature is valid against the document without changes? Just curious. Hope everyone is having a great day!
