Greetings! The notes from our March 3, 2020 ODF TC Teleconference are below. Hope everyone is at the start of a great week! Patrick **************** Patrick: Quorum - yes. Patrick: Agenda approved by consent Patrick: Minutes from 24 Feb. 2020 - approved by consent Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3772 Patrick: Andreas - unable to construct anything that didn't work - change in draw:type didn't impact most consumer applications - can close for now Patrick: Regina agrees with closing for now Patrick: Francis - should the spec should say something about how to interpret draw:type if draw:engine isn't specified? Michael Stahl: Regina found that Karbon uses custom draw:engine Patrick: Karbon does not write draw:type at all Patrick: Only LO and AOO write different things into draw:type Patrick: (from Regina) Regina Henschel: PowerPoint writes always "non-primitive" Patrick: Close Office-3772 - clone for editorial task for ODF 1.4 - what to say about draw:type in the absence of draw:engine Patrick: Regina - we don't say what the draw:engine is - Patrick: Regina - we don't say what to do when there is a draw engine and no enhance geometry Patrick: Francis - the wording suggest the engine is being specified Francis Cave: The draw:type attribute specifies the name of a shape type that is implementation dependent. Francis Cave: a value of type string: a name of a shape that is implementation-dependent. Francis Cave: The draw:type attribute specifies an implementation-dependent name. Francis Cave: - a value of type string: an implementation-dependent name. Patrick: Close Office-3772 - create issue for ODF 1.4 with new wording by Francis on draw:type Patrick: accepted by consent Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3792 Regina Henschel: In case of value 'page' writing mode is inherited from the page that contains the element where this attribute appears. Patrick: <style:section-properties> which page does it inherit from? Francis - could say start of the section page is inherited - Patrick: <styleïage-layout-properties> should not have page value because then page is referring to itself Patrick: Regina suggested moving writing-mode remarks from Appendix E to normative text in writing mode material Patrick: Suggested fix: If the <element-name> has no style:writing-mode attribute or if the value of the style:writing-mode attribute is the empty string, then it inherits the style:writing-mode attribute and its value from the page where the element appears. Patrick: May want to say where the section starts - Michael's question on inheritance for sections Patrick: Francis points to fifth paragraph in E.1 as esp. normative Patrick: next week: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-4030 Patrick: https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3791 Patrick: adjourned -- Patrick Durusau patrick@durusau.net Technical Advisory Board, OASIS (TAB) Editor, OpenDocument Format TC (OASIS), Project Editor ISO/IEC 26300 Co-Editor, ISO/IEC 13250-1, 13250-5 (Topic Maps) Another Word For It (blog): http://tm.durusau.net Homepage: http://www.durusau.net Twitter: patrickDurusau
