Subject: Notes from ODF TC Teleconference 27 Feb. 2023
Greetings! Notes from the ODF TC Teleconference, 27 Feb. 2023 are below. Hope everyone is at the start of a great week! Patrick ********** *Patrick:* Quorum - yes *Patrick:* agenda - approved by consent *Patrick:* minutes of 7 Feb. 2023 - approved by consent *Patrick:* https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-4030 *Patrick:* start with 20.404.1 - *Patrick:* The new writing mode value sideways-rl corresponds to vert="vert" for shapes in OOXML and to writing-mode: sideways-rl in CSS4 [11]. The new writing mode value sideways-lr corresponds to vert="vert270" for shapes in OOXML and to writing-mode: sideways-lr in CSS4. Providing such writing modes is recommended in 8 Typographic Support. Vertical Text, in Internationalization Best Practices for Spec Developers [1] CSS3 [11] uses properties writing mode and text-orientation. Our tb-rl attribute corresponds to writing-mode:vertical-rl plus text-orientation:mixed. Our tb-lr attribute corresponds to writing-mode:vertical-lr plus text-orientation:mixed. The new value sideways-rl corresponds to writing-mode:vertical-rl plus text-orientation:sideways. CSS3 has no way to describe the new value sideways-lr. Therefore a reference to CSS3 is not possible. *Patrick:* The new writing mode value sideways-rl corresponds to vert="vert" for shapes in OOXML and to writing-mode: sideways-rl in CSS4 [11]. The new writing mode value sideways-lr corresponds to vert="vert270" for shapes in OOXML and to writing-mode: sideways-lr in CSS4. *Patrick:* Regina - don't need the additional notes *Patrick:* Now look at 20.404.2 *Regina Henschel:* and please read comment to 20.404.4 *Patrick:* Regina - could say if given in different areas of graphic object - must be the same - *Patrick:* Regina - would like paragraphs to say page in a graphic object - and that properties for the shape - that it is top bottom, right left *Patrick:* frames in LO have writing properties and not the paragraphs within the frame *Regina Henschel:* 20.404.4 <stylearagraph-properties> *Patrick:* Regina - what would help to come to a decision on this part? *Patrick:* Patrick: Just me but open ended questions are hard to decide as a group, suggest a proposal that makes the choices and so we can say yes/no to specifics. *Patrick:* Regina will do a document with a specific proposal *Patrick:* Regina- would be helpful to know what MS needs to convert to OOXML *Patrick:* Regina - will have something by Friday of this week *Patrick:* adjourned -- Patrick Durusau patrick@durusau.net Technical Advisory Board, OASIS (TAB) Editor, OpenDocument Format TC (OASIS), Project Editor ISO/IEC 26300 Co-Editor, ISO/IEC 13250-1, 13250-5 (Topic Maps) Another Word For It (blog): http://tm.durusau.net Homepage: http://www.durusau.net Twitter: patrickDurusau
