Overall TC Milestones Status as discussed by LSC: The following represents the current state of each TC relative to Public Reviews * = PR 04/24 - 06/23 & = PR 06/08 - 08/07 ? = PR 08/08 - 10/07 - = Schedule not available at this time. (lower priority) SCA-Assembly TC Specifications (V1.1) * SCA Assembly Model Specification SCA-Policy TC Specifications (V1.1) * SCA Policy Framework SCA-BPEL TC Specifications (V1.1) * SCA WS-BPEL Client and Implementation Specification SCA-C/C++ TC Specifications (V1.1) * SCA Client and Implementation Model Specification for C * SCA Client and Implementation Model Specification for C++ SCA-J TC Specifications (V1.1) & SCA Java Common Annotations and APIs Specification & SCA Java Component Implementation Specification - SCA EJB Session Bean Binding Specification - SCA Spring Component Implementation Specification - SCA JEE Integration Specification SCA-Bindings TC Specifications (V1.1) ? SCA Web Services Binding Specification ? SCA JMS Binding Specification ? SCA JCA Binding Specification - SCA HTTP Binding Specification SDO TC Specifications (V3.0) - Service Data Objects Specification - Service Data Objects for Java Where are we on the Test Suite progress for each? (i.e. Test Cases, Test Assertions) For each - When is TC final review scheduled? - When is vote for PR scheduled? - When is Submission to TC Admin for PR scheduled? - When is PR targeted? Public Review dates for Test Suites (Assertions/Test Cases) 08/18 - 10/17 SCA-Assembly ??/?? - ??/?? SCA-Policy ??/?? - ??/?? SCA-Bindings ??/?? - ??/?? SCA-BPEL ??/?? - ??/?? SCA-C/C++ ??/?? - ??/?? SCA-J ??/?? - ??/?? SDO Where do we stand on the Spring Binding spec? Did EJB binding spec get update of RDL files from Assembly team? What is prognosis for Spring Binding spec, are all the issues now resolved? SCA-Assembly Test Suite Public review is now complete. Waiting on final resolution to remaining spec issues for test suite action. What is next milestone target for spec? Java CAA test suites: Last month, Public Review seemed to be imminent. Haven't seen the Public Review issued yet. What's the hold up? NOTES: update from Ashok for Policy: 1 remaining issue to close on 01/18 and 01/25 have committee spec to vote on. Then about 4 weeks to work on test assertions and test cases (test suite). Finish by 02/22. Submit to OASIS by first week of March. Planned for 60 day PR of test cases. Things are going well (see also email update from Dave Booz below) WRT Assembly: started on 1.2 (eventing) NOTES: updates from LOC status update emails: 1. Sanjay Patil: Update from SCA BPEL TC: 1st PR is already done. Currently there are 3 open issues. Remaining main work area is - creation of test cases. Here is the current plan: Jan 21 - Revised specification draft Feb 4 - Update Test Assertion Document Mar 4 - Test Case Creation Mar 25 - Review and finalization of Test Cases Apr 1 - Go for 2nd PR 2. Bryan Aupperle: C++ and C C&I Specs 1/14 - resolve the last open issues (two due to recent assembly changes and one addressing code artifact precedence) 1/21 - vote to approve/accept the final v1.1 CD (cd04), vote to start final public review (assume 15 days) 3/4 - completed test assertions documents and testcases, vote to accept as CDs and start public review (60 days - this is first PR for java test suite pieces) This could easily be sooner. The test assertions are complete and there are only a few test cases left to write, but would like a pattern set by the Java TC for a couple of them Based on the experience of our first PR and the PR of the Assembly test suite, I would not expect any significant time after the PR to address any issues. Core and Java SDO specs. (I have not verified this with the TC Chairs) 2/21 - Approve CD02 and submit for 1st PR. Test suite not started C++ SDO spec (again I have not verified with the TC Chairs) This is on a much slower pace and will be several months at least before a potential PR. 3. Martin Chapman: SCA Assembly... Spec: 14 Jan - 2nd Public review sent to TC-Admin 15-Feb end 2nd Public Review 1st March Freeze spec. Test Cases Assertions: 15 Feb: 2nd public review of test assertions/test cases sent to TC Admin 15 March: end 2nd Public review 30 March Freeze Test assertions/test cases 4. David Booz: Policy spec: 1/18 - Resolve the last open issue 1/25 - vote to approve/accept the final v1.1 CD (cd03), vote to start final public review (assume 15 days) 2/22 - completed test assertions document and testcases, vote to accept as CDs and start public review (60 days - this is first PR for policy test suite pieces) All policy documents for SCA v1.1 should be ready, through PR and issues handled by end of May (likely before) Java CAA spec, Java POJO spec, EJB Binding spec (TC decided to advance them as a group) 1/18 - Resolve the last open Java CAA issue 1/25 - vote to approve/accept the final v1.1 CD (cd04, cd02), vote to start final public review (assume 15 days) 3/1 - completed test assertions documents and testcases, vote to accept as CDs and start public review (60 days - this is first PR for java test suite pieces) For all of the above, I assume we will move quickly to CS as soon as PRs are done, whenever that might be. JEE, Spring specs (TC decided to advance them as a group) 6/15 - final SCA V1.1 CDs complete and ready for first PR (60 days) 8/15 - CDs for test assertions and testcases 5. Response to Microsoft and Siemens SCA-Assembly Public Review comments. Microsoft and Siemens (and other internal SCA members) have raised the question around which of the two following paths should be taken for claiming SCA Compliance (i.e. A or B). A) SCA Compliant extensions must be compliant with all of the following: a) SCA Assembly, b) SCA Policy, c) SCA Binding, and d) at least one of the SCA Implementation Types (currently Java, BPEL, C or C++ ) B) SCA Compliant extensions must be compliant with all of the following: a) SCA Assembly, b) SCA Policy and c) SCA Binding At F2F meeting last week (week of Nov 30) SCA-Assembly TC Closed Microsoft and Siemens issue with no action. There is a good amount of discussion in the assembly mailing List around this topic. Steering Committee needs to keep a pulse on this. Any further discussion? [jm] The Assembly TC, after lots of discussion/debate, decided to close with no action, and make no changes wrt SCA 1.1. My sense is that it is likely this topic will re-surface in the 1.2 time frame. NOTES: closed with N/A - will likely resurface 6. Compliant implementation plans Tuscany updates? Do we have an update on Fabric3 status? NOTES: no update - table for next meeting 7. Discussion of SCA Primer. Is it time yet to begin working on an SCA Primer? NOTES: table for next meeting 8. We recently received a TMF request. What, if anything, do we want to do about this? (See Action Item AI20091113) NOTES: table for next 9. Any Other Business? - We will be using a new call-in number again for the February Steering Committee meeting. - Calendaring for future 2010 meetings will be created. NOTES: in progress 10. Future SC Agenda Topics? NOTES: no submissions 11. Next Meeting - The next regular teleconference will be held on February 12, 2010 NOTES: change to Feb 19, 2010 (OpenCSA Steering Committee calls are scheduled for the second Friday of each month.) 12. Adjourn NOTES: adjourned
