Subject: RE: [oslc-ms] 2017 Annual Steering Committee Nominations and Election starting - Axel Reichwein
Dear OASIS OSLC Member Section, My name is Axel Reichwein, and I’m the Director of Koneksys.
I’d like to nominate myself for the upcoming OASIS-OSLC Steering Committee elections and accept the nomination. Koneksys has extensive experience developing OSLC-based data integration solutions for organizations such as NASA, John Deere, and Airbus. More
importantly, Koneksys is investing in helping build the OSLC community by funding a new community manager, Brian King (cc’ed), who will bring in his community management experience from Mozilla Firefox to OSLC. The growth of OSLC is tightly linked to the growth
of Koneksys. It is therefore a priority for us to see growth in the OSLC community, including also within the developer community.
I’m located in San Francisco, California, a unique location with a very high density in developers, as well as academic institutions such as Stanford,
who has traditionally always been involved in Linked Data efforts, such as recently in the smartAPI effort, https://med.stanford.edu/cedar/research-supplements.html. I plan to connect with fellow developers through REST API conferences as well as through meetups.
I also plan to connect with academic institutions to attract more research and government funding for OSLC-based solutions.
I have promoted OSLC at multiple systems engineering conferences as well as through workshops to companies interested in learning about the potential
of OSLC for PLM. I’m interested in seeing the adoption of OSLC beyond the software and systems engineering domain, such as in the simulation and mechanical engineering domains. Koneksys has created most of its OSLC solutions in the latter domains, most of
which are available as open-source at https://github.com/ld4mbse. Koneksys will for example promote these OSLC-based solutions at the upcoming PDT Europe 2017 conference.
I would be honored to be on the steering committee of OSLC to help the community expand in new directions.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best regards, Axel Reichwein From: oslc-ms@lists.oasis-open.org [mailto:oslc-ms@lists.oasis-open.org]
