Subject: Asynchronous requests and conformance...
Does an SPML Web Service need to support asynchronous
requests in order to be conformant? Asynchronous requests are probably not an
issue for a provisioning system acting as a PSP, especially if work flow is
involved. But they may present too much overhead for a PST. I would like to
make two motions for discussion at the next telecon: Motion 1: If a client specifies a request as synchronous, the service MUST
process the request in a synchronous fashion or it MUST return an error. Motion 2: If a client specifies a request as asynchronous, the service
MAY process the request synchronously and return the results in the response. Jeff Bohren Product Architect OpenNetwork Technologies, Inc |
