Subject: RE: [ubl-dev] Danish implementation of UBL published as Good Practice Case in the EU eGovernment Good Practice Framework
Sacha, Yes - I agree - I'd previously pointed out that the approach used by US Gov HHS for eGrants would also be perfect here for Denmark to apply too. Especially since Denmark already have this VAN - B2G working - and they can easily "clone" and extend the US open source software approach. 1) Use ebXML "appliance" - see ZIP download @ http://era.nih.gov/ElectronicReceipt/system.htm - contains Windows folder system - drag and drop delivery support - pre-defined message handling for UBL transactions, validation, send/respond tracking - auto packager- will deliver any valid XML via ebXML wrapper - open source - easy download and install - can use freeb-UBL tools to provide templates and forms too - can "hook" to online web pages via REST calls to auto track delivery / status etc from local send/receipt "dashboard" form. 2) Integration with existing Accounting packages - Intuit, Peachtree, etc. - accntng package simply outputs their own invoice to XML - via print or export facility - drag-n-drop that XML to the ebML "appliance" delivery folder. - 1) above re-packages that via freeb-UBL tools into valid UBL invoice. - Reverse path - Orders, confirmations, etc can be imported from the Delivery INCOMING folder. 3) Partner management - CPA and certificates / transactions - After downloading the ebXML appliance - the user installs their CPA and certificate - obtained from the central business registration site. - This configures the templates, scripts and message types according to their accounting SW type and CPA preferences (company is profit/non-profit/school, etc). 4) Perform test transmission to testing central certification site 5) After automated validation of test messages 4) via round trip - return to 3) central registration site - upgrade to "live" status. CPA record automatically updated for government tracking site. Cool thing about this is that anyone registered at 3) can then also begin sending eInvoices to other businesses direct via simple insert of reference in 1) to that other persons CPA. This would truely create a real digital economy - decentralized - not just for government eInvoices. Perhaps that is what Denmark is afraid of creating?!? So they want to build just this central web-based form system only they control instead... ; -) DW "The way to be is to do" - Confucius (551-472 B.C.) -------- Original Message -------- Subject: RE: [ubl-dev] Danish implementation of UBL published as Good Practice Case in the EU eGovernment Good Practice Framework From: Sacha Schlegel <sacha_oasis@schlegel.li> Date: Thu, February 01, 2007 9:57 am To: "David RR Webber (XML)" <david@drrw.info> Cc: Mikkel Hippe Brun <MHB@itst.dk>, ubl@lists.oasis-open.org, ubl-dev <ubl-dev@lists.oasis-open.org> Hi David I am positively surprised that ebXML messaging (or at least the ebMS header) was used as transport protocol on the VAN networks. Somewhere along the lines: "Instead of the secure VANS infrastructure (which does not use digital signatures) in a next round the Internet based infrastructure will be implemented, then heavily relying on digital signatures". The way I understand [1] it is that for their next round "Internet" infrastructure uses the Danish WS-Reliable Asynchronous Secure Profile (WS-RASP, a Danish WS-I profile) and excludes ebXML Messaging :( which is a pitty. ... specially as of those 1.2 million invoices (as of 2 months ago) each one has been exclusively exchanged on the VANS with ebMS whereas 0 invoices have been exchanged with WS-RASP. I do not understand why SME's shall not be able to use ebXML Messaging solutions but WS-RASP solutions (none interoperabilty tested by third parties as far as I know as opposed to ETSI ebXML PlugFest, Korbit, and Drummond ebXML interops) even though the Danish Gov. seems to have made good experiences with ebMS on VANS. Maybe the NES project may have ebXML Messaging as first class citizen or alternative option in their infrastructure considerations. Question: Can a member of the NES project comment on their infrastructure considerations regarding the support of ebXML technologies (in particular ebXML Messaging)?
