Dear all,
When I was looking at the Business Process description in the "CEN/BII 13 Advanced Procurement with Dispatch" I noticed the term FULFILMENT was used.
Looking at the CEN/BII2 Profile Architecture I saw FULFILMENT was prominently positioned between ORDERING and BILLING.
"Fulfilment is the collaboration in which the goods or services
are transferred from the Despatch Party to the Delivery
Party."
"In common practice, fulfilment is either supported by a proactive
Despatch Advice from the Despatch Party or by a reactive Receipt
Advice from the Delivery Party."
This made me wonder when did we start using the term FULFILMENT for the Delivery and Receipt Process.
I searched a bit more and discovered that the term was already in the UBL 2.0 specification of 2006.
In my view FULFILMENT - is a much larger process especially focused on the strategies for manufacturing and delivering products to the market.
See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_fulfillment
The paragraph FULFILMENT states that the Order Cancellation and Order Change documents types are part of this process.
"Document types in these processes are Despatch Advice, Receipt
Advice, Order Cancellation, and Order Change."
Are these really part of the FULFILMENT process ?
Looks to me that once goods or services have been delivered that do not satisfy the requirements - dispute handling should be started
How are people dealing with this ?
regards
Danny
