Subject: AW: [ubl] A Prototype Schema for
UBL Models
Ooops, Stephen,
I
thought, You were considering spreadsheet formats as non-proprietary as well
as UML, where XMI serves as a model transport language,
which already exists as a more or less sufficient
standard.
Now
it seems to me, that just XML is non-proprietary for you?
I
had a dream: formlery we build several proprietary interfaces for the same
purpose. Now we build several non-proprietary interfaces for the same purpose.
Is that a progress?
Please find enclosed a draft for another schema modeling language
(please replace virtually the term gefeg by any other
namespace).
greetings
Michael
p.s.
Who could translate 'eierlegende Wollmilchsau' into
English?
I wonder if this will be of interest to the UBL
TC.
This was discussed a while ago in an ISC
meeting.
I've prototyped a Schema for the UBL models,
based on the ccts:CoreComponentsParameter Schema Module, which it
imports.
(both attached)
I guess it could be used as an alternative
means of storing the model
data in a non-proprietary (XML) format
from which it could be
transformed, perhaps into a variety of other
formats, including
Schemas, perhaps forms and even perhaps class
diagrams.
Of course it could be transformed to and from
spreadsheets too and
other proprietary formats. As such it could be
of interest to tools
but it might help towards solving
customization/context problems too
with regard to autogeneration.
All the best
Steve
