Subject: Minutes of Pacific UBL TC call 1 July 2004
MINUTES OF PACIFIC UBL TC MEETING 00H30 - 02H30 UTC THURSDAY 1 JULY 2004 ================================================================== ATTENDANCE ================================================================== Jon Bosak Stephen Green Tim McGrath Anne Hendry Yukinori Saito Regrets: Thomas Lee ================================================================== STANDING ITEMS ================================================================== {Standing_Agenda:6} Calendar review TM: It appears that the November entry for "China-Japan International Forum" actually refers to the ebXML Asia Committee (eAC) meeting now scheduled for the last week in October; remove the November entry and add TM's name to the eAC meeting. The entry for "East Asia Initiative meeting, Seoul (ECIF)" may also refer to the eAC meeting, but we should check with Thomas Lee about this. {Standing_Agenda:7} Event reports Nothing this week. {Standing_Agenda:9} Phone schedule JB: report on matrix See note on this in the minutes of the Atlantic TC call. Liaison report from eAC: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200406/msg00132.html TM: Note the increasing ebXML infrastructure work in Asia. There are about a dozen companies in Asia with ebMS software, and about half of them have implemented reliable messaging. They have also formed a federated ebXML registry group, a world first (there is no other federated XML registry group). There is also an ebXML RegRep interoperability trial in France this week. AH: Reports much interest at the ebXML Reg/Rep booth at JavaOne this week. TM: We have a background task to register UBL. JB: Have received a copy of a draft on Serialization/Storage for Core Components in ebXML Registry from Duane Nickull. Will try to get a URL for this and forward it to the TC. ================================================================== ATLANTIC REVIEW ================================================================== Review minutes of the Atlantic TC call (see ubl mail list). SG: Some items from ubl-dev are not on the issues list. SG/AH to review ubl-dev and incorporate any issues not previously logged. We reviewed the issues discussed in the Atlantic call; see the revised issues list for disposition. With regard to issue 1.8, it was noted that we actually need two NDRs: one for the order of BIEs within the CBC schema, and one for the order of aggregates in the CAC schema. We need in particular to deal with the term "type." Specification of these rules is a post-1.0 work item. Issues 1.11 and 1.12 raise the question of whether the code list text files (which are no longer included in the UBL 1.0 CD) can be generated from EDIFIX for use by tools like UBLish. ================================================================== PRIORITY ITEMS FOR THIS MEETING ================================================================== We didn't get a chance to discuss these items, but the relevant written report due from each of the LSC SCs is noted below. {Localization:3} Spreadsheet templates See http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200406/msg00000.html http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200406/msg00012.html {Localization:4} CNLSC status http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200406/msg00129.html {Localization:6} JPLSC status http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200406/msg00089.html {Localization:8} KRLSC status No written report received this month. {Localization:10} ESLSC status http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200406/msg00130.html ================================================================== WORK LIST ADDITIONS ================================================================== Addition of new items to the work list. ================================================================== OTHER BUSINESS ================================================================== ATG2 meeting in Walldorf We need someone to tell us what the results of the meeting mean for UBL. Meeting next week Due to the fact that JB and AH will not be available next week, the group decided to skip the Pacific call scheduled for 8 July and resume our regular schedule on 15 July. Maintaining issue review schedule To keep on schedule: JB will review the issues list and make an attempt to separate the 1.1 issues from the ones that need to be resolved in order to send 1.0 to OASIS. We will try to propose issue fixes in email between meetings.
