Subject: Re: [ubl] TC ACTION: Prepare for discussion of Reusable architecture
Hello UBL TC, I have posted the concrete proposal to UBL TC regarding this subject on May 21, 2005. I have attached this proposal in this e-mail. Please review this proposal. I think that the resolution regarding this proposal has the following 3 options. Please examine this observational comments for UBL TC decision. 1. Option 1: Adopt my proposal completely. (1) Merit This architecture is desirable one. The UBL library will grow up in the near future. For example: Add new document types like pre-order documents and the three new post-invoice documents. The library will be categorized desirably. and UBL users will be easy to refer the library. (2) Demerit This option has considerable influences to the current UBL library. For example: Change the structures of XML Schema, change the structures of Small Subset library, and others. (3) My consideration This option require some additional resources and working. If the related UBL members will agree this working, this option will be possible. 2. Option 2: Remain the current Reusable as the current structure like UBL Core BIEs, but create the new group Reusable BIEs for the additional document types. (2) Merit There is no necessity to change the current Reusable structures. The UBL users will be easy to understand and reuse the UBL library including Reusable. (3) Demerit This option is not the best solution at the view point of classification of the UBL library. (4) My consideration If almost UBL members will agree this option, this option will be realistic solution. 3. Option 3: Remain the current Reusable as the current structure, and add the additional reusable BIEs for the additional document types to the current Reusable. (1) Merit There is no necessity to change the current Reusable structures. (2) Demerit As you know, the current UBL Reusable library has 60 ABIEs. The contents has 431 contents (BBIE and ASBIE). This Reusable is huge to handle not only for UBL Users but also UBL TC members already. If the additional Reusable contents for the additional document types would be added to this Reusable library, it would become much troublesome to handle. (3) My consideration This option is bad selection. Best Regards, Yukinori Saito ------------------------------------------- Yukinori Saito Fuji Electric Information Service Co., Ltd. In preparation, please review the proposal from Yukinori Saito: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200505/msg00079.html It would be helpful to have preliminary comments on this proposal registered in email, particularly from members in Asia who may not be able to attend the Atlantic TC call. Dear UBL TC members, According to the decision at UBL TC Hangzhou meeting, I did the following working regarding restructuring of UBL spreadsheet V1.0. 1. Analysis of the current UBL Reusable V1.0 and restructuring classification I have researched and analyzed the current UBL Reusable V1.0. Then, I have classified ABIEs in the Reusable V1.0 to the restructured spreadsheet V1.1 I have made the following documents. (1) Analysis of UBL Reusable Spreadsheet V1.0 and Restructuring of the Spreadsheet - This document explains both Analysis method and restructuring method. (2) Analysis Table of UBL Reusable V1.0 and Classification to V1.1 - This document explains analysis and classifications regarding each ABIE in Reusable V1.0. 2. Development new spreadsheet V1.1 According to the analysis and classification of Reusable V1.0 described above, I have made the following spreadsheet V1.1. These spreadsheets were developed using the recent UBL specifications 'cd-UBL-1.0' at UBL page in OASIS web site. - UBL-Invoice-1.1.xls - UBL-CommonProcurementBIEs-1.1.xls - UBL-CoreBIEs-1.1.xls According to the analysis, there is no necessity of restructuring the remaining business documents. e.g.: Order, OrderResponse, OrderResponseSimple, OrderChange, OrderCancellation, DespatchAdvice, ReceiptAdvice.
