Subject: Re: [ubl] Different definitions for UUID in spreadsheets
I believe that the variant definitions are correct for each UUID within its document context, but as an editorial issue, I agree that it would be best to regularize the language. For future reference, Ken's message is http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200609/msg00006.html Jon Date: Mon, 04 Sep 2006 08:49:22 -0400 From: "G. Ken Holman" <gkholman@CraneSoftwrights.com> In working on a thread in UBL-Dev I noted there are seven definitions of UUID that differ from all other definitions of UUID. Below is an alphabetized list, and the first entry has the definition used by most UUID entries in spreadsheets. I've deleted all other definitions that read the same, but retained the definitions that read differently, and perhaps these could be edited to read the same (parenthesized below are spreadsheet line numbers from the module where the reference to the BBIE is made). I hope this helps. . . . . . . . . . . . . Ken The typical definition: ApplicationResponse (7) BBIE A computer-generated universally unique identifier (UUID) for the Application Response instance. The other definitions: BillOfLading (8) BBIE Universally Unique Identifier of the instance of this Bill Of Lading. ... CertificateOfOrigin (7) BBIE Universally Unique Identifier of the Certificate Of Origin. CommonLibrary: ... (315 Despatch Line) BBIE Universally unique identification of the line within the Despatch note. ... ForwardingInstructions (8) BBIE Universally Unique Identifier of an instance of the Forwarding Instructions. ... PackingList (7) BBIE Universally Unique Identifier of one instance of the Packing List. ... TransportationStatus (8) BBIE Universally Unique Identifier of one instance of a Waybill.
