      GKH: Concerned about PB's comment regarding Microsoft and
      SAP patents.

      JB: It is to be hoped that PB is successful in obtaining the
      necessary statement from SAP.

2008 TC WORK SCHEDULE

   ACTION: JB to construct a straw work schedule upon receipt of
   dates.

UPDATE PACKAGE

   We discussed the writeup from GKH regarding methodology for the
   update package:

      JB: What does "UBL docs repository" mean in terms of the
      file system?

      GKH: It means docs.oasis-open.org/ubl .

      JB: Please clarify the role of os-UBL-2.0.zip,
      os-UBL-2.0-update.zip, and os-UBL-2.0-update-only.zip.

      GKH: As follows:

         os-UBL-2.0.zip

            The original UBL 2.0 package published November 2005.

         os-UBL-2.0-update-only.zip

            Informational package of (nonsubstantive) patches to
            os-UBL-2.0.zip.

         os-UBL-2.0-update.zip

            The UBL 2.0 package as patched by application of
            os-UBL-2.0-update-only.zip.  That is,

            os-UBL-2.0 + os-UBL-2.0-update-only =
            os-UBL-2.0.update

         An existing user of os-UBL-2.0 will probably need to
         examine os-UBL-2.0-update-only to determine which changes
         to apply.  A new user of os-UBL-2.0 would simply download
         os-UBL-2.0-update.

      AGREED to call the "update-only" package "update-delta"
      instead.

      JB: The part relating to publication of a code list update
      between the release of the 2.0 Update Package and UBL 2.1
      makes sense, but it's beginning to appear unlikely that we
      will insert an additional update just for code lists into
      the schedule.

      GKH: Note that (as agreed in Manhattan) there will be
      additional .xsl files in the U.P.  There is a dependency
      here on input from PSC and TSC regarding business rules.

   JB: We will begin a discussion of JPLSC comments next week:

FEDERAL COMMUNITY OF INTEREST

   AGREED to move this to the Atlantic agenda starting with the
   call of 11/28 in hopes of involving both SW and TL.

2008 TC MEETING SCHEDULE

   28 Jan - 1 Feb 2008 in Manhattan

      Confirmed.  101 Park Avenue.

   March 2008 in Rome (together with UBL International Day)

      GKH: Now looking at April instead of March.

   4-8 August 2008 in Montréal

      Confirmed.  Hotel Europa, rue Drummond.

   January 2009 in Fremantle

      Still tentative.

   ACTION: PSC and TSC to provide feedback on UBL 2.0 SBS 2.0:

   ACTION: PSC and TSC to summarize business rules that are (1)
   wanted in UBL but not allowed by [i.e., capable of being
   addressed by] the NDR (e.g., requirement to include one of
   PartyName and PartyIdentifier but not both) and (2) data items
   whose constraints are inherited from another standard (e.g.,
   lengths of data items specified by UNTDED); the rules so
   identified to become candidates for a list of schematron
   assertions "recommended to be included" (final characterization
   TBD).
