Title: Message
I am volunteering
for the co-chair position. As requested at the last telephone conference, I'm
providing a brief bio.
I've been working in
the computer industry for 23 years. I started with IBM in 1981, working on
mainframes with MVS and VM, but by the time I left I was an intelligent
workstation specialist (pauses for laugh). Then I joined a startup company,
writing software for PCs to handle census data. While I was there I was part of
beta programmes for OS/2 and Windows 3.0. I moved from there to another small
company, this time writing anti-virus software. The company was acquired by
Computer Associates. I continued to work on anti-virus software for a while,
and now Web Services.
I've been working on
Web Services for a little over two years. I've been a member of this TC since it
was founded. I've been on all but a couple of phone calls, and at all the
face-to-face meetings except Moscow.
In my spare time I
review DVDs, and proof-read reviews by others. I've been using those same
proof-reading skills on TNs and the V3 specification.
