Subject: Re: [wsrp] Thursday Call for 4/2/2003, IMPORTANT
Alejandro, I think you're making a very good point here. The mail templates should offer a more detailed information to ease crawling through messages. I will ask the OASIS administration what we can do here or whether they could improve this. Please appologize for any inconvenience. We're still learning to work with the new system :-) Mit freundlichen Gruessen / best regards, Richard Jacob ______________________________________________________ IBM Lab Boeblingen, Germany Dept.8288, WebSphere Portal Server Development Phone: ++49 7031 16-3469 - Fax: ++49 7031 16-4888 Email: mailto:richard.jacob@de.ibm.com |---------+----------------------------> | | Alejandro | | | Abdelnur | | | <Alejandro.Abdeln| | | ur@Sun.COM> | | | | | | 04/03/2003 05:33 | | | PM | |---------+----------------------------> >--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: Richard Jacob/Germany/IBM@IBMDE | | cc: wsrp@lists.oasis-open.org | | Subject: Re: [wsrp] Thursday Call for 4/2/2003, IMPORTANT | >--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Richard, You are correct, I've found it. But in my defense (I'm sure is more than one that missed) the subject of the email was "[wsrp] Groups - WSRP TC modified", as 12 other emails sent during the last week. And all those emails start with a line saying "WSRP TC has been modified by Richard Jacob (richard.jacob@de.ibm.com)." So to me it was just another automatic notification that you've changed something in the WSRP pages. But there was no indication from the subject or the begining of the email what was about. Having several messages with the same subject, automatically generated, is not useful. First one tends to ignore them, second you can no do a quick search by sorting buy subject as they do not provide any useful info. Could you please check if it's possible to set the subject of the message to be delivered to something meaninful when updating the WSRP pages? Regards Alejandro Richard Jacob wrote: Alejandro, you should have received the mail below containing the updated agenda for todays call. It also contains the time and duration. Please note that we manage our TC meetings within the new collaboration tools. You should see the call information on the WSRP TC member pages->calendar. Here I and Thomas will update the schedule, append agenda items etc. The system sends out notification notes to you automaticly. Mail you should have received: WSRP TC has been modified by Richard Jacob (richard.jacob@de.ibm.com ). (strongly encourage? Who wins if CSS & button.label each specify a label?) => Could make the style sheet locale specific! [RT] My testing indicated that a CSS stylesheet can not set the label of a button outside of setting a background image that incorporates the label (or using browser specific capabilities). #249: Class name length impact on performance => Request by the "performance police" that the class names be shortened. 3/27 => leave open for 1 week for suggestions #???: redirectURL mutually exclusive with interactionResponse => discussion thread which didn't get teleconference time to determine whether we want to rearrange the placement of fields in returned structures. The question is whether all of the UpdateResponse structure should be mutually exclusive with redirectURL. #251: ? Delete access control statement => Comments that since WSRP does not provide for how an authenticated user identity could be propagated, the comment about how one could be used is inappropriate. #252: ? Versioning => Proposes fields in ServiceDescription and RegistrationData specifying the WSRP version the source conforms to. #253: ? Drop many extensions fields => Requests that extension fields only appear in top level data structures. #254: ? Flatten UserProfile => Requests that the UserProfile data structures be flattened for parsing performance reasons. But last week we said 8AM for 2 hours. The only catch is that in Europe they change the the time last weekend while in the US is this weekend, so this may create some confusion with the European folks as for them will be an our later (just for this week).
