Description
The Item Identification DEX is a specification for a ISO 10303-239 (PLCS) data exchange set compliant with the US Department of Defense Item Unique Identification (IUID) standard. The objective is to manage globally unique identifiers and to exchange identification information through the life of a physical (or realized) individual item. The Item Identification DEX can
include the following information regarding a single individual item or multiple individual items:
- Identification of the assembly of the item at a given point in the lifecycle;
- Identification of the item including the Unique Item Identifier;
- Identification of the item's acquisition contract;
- Identification of critical lifecycle events, such as Lost, Stolen and Sold,
with related item status and condition;
- Identification of item versions;
- Reference to item design information;
- Representation of marks on the item;
- Identification of primary related organizations.
