Scenario : Banking Industry: Image-based Check Cashing 
Situation:  Banks are under competitive pressure from non-banks. Banks are responding by using check images as a means of reshaping the economics of the check cashing process. The redundant cost of check processing can be eliminated by capturing check images with banking metadata. Check image returns and general exception handling can be done by heuristics to further reduce the processing costs.
Problem : How can a Semantic Aware ebXML Registry/Repository be used to improve the image management and exception handling for image-based check processing ?
