Agenda
- Minutes
- Mailing Lists (Lothar)
- We have many new mailing lists; we should start using the new lists on Monday the 17th
- 5 lists for subgroups and one main list
- Use current list for overall comments and other lists for subgroups
- Dinner at F2F
- Dinner on Tuesday looks good
- MikeF will find a restaurant
- Difficulty finding a restaurant that will accept 25 checks
- We could have dinner at Oracle and prepay MikeF.
- Would be about $20; can forward out menus to choose from
- MikeF will expect payment Tuesday!
- Plan for about a half hour break after meeting and before dinner
- If you need a specific receipt, let MikeF know.
- Common Interfaces (Alan)
- Rich & Carsten worked on a spec (0.1.2); went out on Friday
- Carsten got WSRP perspective in there
- Big issues
- Transient vs. persistent entities
- Sessions
- Batching operations through the interface
- Now has arrays not only as parameters but also as return types
- Separate action routing mechanism outside of getMarkup
- Mike just sent out a response to the spec which will probably generate more discussions
- Interfaces & Protocols (MikeF)
- Looking at requirements and deciding what needs to be done with them
- Got a lot done on registrations
- Are spending a lot of time looking at sessions
- Not necessarily requirements but what the requirements mean
- Trying to get together requirements for F2F to talk about
- Sessions and transient/persistent entities are major questions
- How persistent information is managed is still a big discussion point as well
- Thomas -- We also need to make sure that the relationship between entities and sessions is consistent with JSR 168
- The request-response model is also important to deal with
- Thomas - We should use the next week to identify the agreed upon items and the open items so that we can present the agreed upon items and discuss the open items
- Will there be any time for sub-committees to meet?
- Sasha - 2:45-4:30 on Tuesday is for sub-committee meetings
- Publish Find Bind Metadata (MikeF)
- Kind of in stasis here
- Sent out an e-mail asking for existing metadata from the portal vendors
- Can folks send them to MikeF or bring them to the face to face and we can see what the union is
- Thomas - we will send ours next week
- Markup Fragments and Styles (Chris)
- Consolidating styles
- Now looking at URL rewriting
- There are two methods that people want in the spec; we're looking at how/if we can include them both
- MikeF - FYI, we will have a projector for the laptop and a slide projector, also, about 15 network connections
- Security & SSO (Mark)
- Map to transport mechanisms
- For document based mechanisms, do they work with existing infrastructure/standards
- A lot of progress on how these thing fit in with other standards
- Mark is working on spec and requirements
- Not many controversial things here; mostly leveraging other specs and making sure they play together well
- Biggest thing that is new is a way to explain a policy for how a producer wants to send information
- We will have to have some WSRP specific metadata for how to sign and encrypt documents
- Might be something that we throw away when policy standards become robust
- Thomas - maybe we shouldn't define it in v1.0, then, and should wait for the specs to come out
- Unfortunately, we don't know what those specs are going to be, and digital signing seems to be a must have feature
- Rich - we also may be able to write to the draft standards that will come out in late summer
- Relevant standards
- WS-Security
- XML Signature
- XML Encryption
- We thought that SAML (for requiring portlet to ask portal for a particular level of authentication) was not in the 1.0 timeframe
