Common Interfaces (Alan)
0.22 Version Spec is currently circulating
Discussion is still ongoing with respect to Session management.
Core interfaces are the primary focus.
It's felt that the group is reasonably on track for internal draft by end of month August.
Interfaces & Protocol (Mike)
Action Item: Prioritized list of discussion topics for completing the specification draft
Will look at creating HTML document to track current questions and open questions and current status of discussion.
Possibly posted on OASIS WSRP website or some worksite.
Pub / Find / Bind / Metadata (Mike)
No progress
Markup Fragments & Styles (Chris)
Not Present to Report
Security, Identity & SSO (Mark)
Decided on P3P definition for user profile elements
Decision not to create subset of the P3P definition.
Null value passed for "private/privacy restricted" elements.
Extensibility of additional profile elements will be discovered out-of-band.
The Consumer will indicate support for the extension during registration.
No common vocabulary for extension elements.
Will introduce a single element meta data (Producer) - that indicates whether producer will use profile data or not.
P3P Policies will not affect the WSRP protocol itself, but the producer could expose its P3P Policy within the markup returned.
Security Roles: 4 specific roles have been decided on
(needs abstract definition - but a Producer will decide on the concrete definition for themselves)
Report on Specification Progress
Current 0.22 Spec covers the common API
Issues/Questions about Spec Draft
Session handling still under discussion.
Concern over J2EE Load Balancing with session management.
Concern over factoring issue of WSIA specific functionality
Action Item: to review concerns in common interfaces call
User Profile Issues
How is the User Profile going to be passed in the protocol ?
Is the transfer per request or per session ?
Is the transfer whole or partial(deltas) ?
Stateless producers won't be able to support user profiles
Specification should distinguish what options in protocol will require stateful support.
Missing currently from spec draft are
------------------------
Markup
Meta Data
URL Rewriting
