Subject: XPointer support for PSGML/Emacs

This morning (Friday 21 August 1998), at the XML Developers' Conference in Montreal, Tim Bray complained about the difficulty of calculating XPointers by hand in Emacs. In response, I have written a short add-on to PSGML to calculate a (reasonably optimal) XPointer to the containing element of any arbitrary point in an XML or SGML document.

If you're Tim, or you're anyone else interested enough in XPointers that you've read this far, you can download the psgml-xpointer.el module from:

All the best,

David
