Job Title: Manager of Asian-Pacific Business Development
Job Description:
OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards) is a not-for-profit, international consortium that drives the development, convergence and adoption of open standards for the global information society. The consortium produces more Web services standards than any other organization along with standards for security, e-business, and standardization efforts in the public sector and for application-specific markets. Founded in 1993, OASIS has more than 4,000 participants representing over 600 organizations and individual members in 100 countries.
The successful candidate will manage the sales of OASIS memberships, sponsorships and other services as well as actively participate in sales activities within the Asian-Pacific region.
This will include tracking leads, making sales calls to various management and executive levels, and tracking sales progress. Business Development activities will revolve around creating potential partnerships and mergers, adding new technical committees, and presenting to key industries and communities. The individual in this role will also provide marketing support, including creating and/or reviewing sales materials, presenting to management and industry groups, and participating in various marketing activities (press releases, press events, white papers, etc.). As a Manager, this individual will also participate in the development, planning and implementation of a broad range of strategies and tactics to help the organization fulfill its mission. The successful candidate must be able to work well in a team environment with other peers as well as be able to present ideas and plans to the executive management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, and at least 5+ years experience in Technical Sales and/or Business Development activities
- 5+ years experience working with various International e-Business Standards organizations
- 3+ years working in a senior management position
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a virtual work environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or OpenOffice tools (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation)
- Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese
Terms
This position is targeted for Singapore but the successful candidate may work remotely.
We offer a base fee plus sales commissions. The compensation package will be specific to experience level.
