Abbie Barbir, Ph.D., serves on the OASIS Technical Advisory Board and the Steering Committees of the OASIS IDtrust Member Section and the OASIS Telecommunications Services Member Section. He has been instrumental in the formation of several OASIS Technical Committees including SOA for Telecom, Identity Metasystem Interoperability (IMI), and Open Reputation Management Systems (ORMS). In 2005, he represented OASIS to ITU-T and was instrumental in having the ITU-T consent the SAML and XACML OASIS Standards as ITU-T Recommendations. Abbie is a member of Nortel's Strategic Standards group, where he serves as Senior Advisor in the areas of Web services and Security. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, USA.
Jon Bosak has been a valued member of OASIS since the consortium's founding in 1993 as SGML Open and, in fact, coined the name "Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards" in 1997. He is most known as co-chair of the OASIS Universal Business Language (UBL) Technical Committee and as organizer and leader of the W3C working group that developed XML. Jon chaired the OASIS Process Advisory Committee, which created the OASIS Technical Committee Process. He was formerly a Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems and holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California.
Elysa Jones chairs the OASIS Emergency Management Technical Committee and serves on the OASIS Emergency Interoperability Member Section Steering Committee. She represents Warning Systems, a provider of public alert and notification systems. Elysa is well recognized as a leader in the emergency management community. She served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Partnership for Public Warning and also works closely with the Emergency Interoperability Consortium. Under her leadership, the Emergency Management Technical Committee developed the first emergency data standard for communicating warnings, the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), as well as the Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) suite of standards for defining content based routing assertions for any emergency data. Elysa holds a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
