The Add an Individual Membership tool allows administrators to add one or more memberships for an individual who already exists in the Kavi Members database. Only individuals who have a purpose of 'Member' are eligible for membership.
Back to topSelect the appropriate type of membership(s) for this individual and, if necessary, override the start date that would otherwise be assigned automatically during the membership process.
Options:
- Existing Memberships
The following fields are displayed for each type of available membership:
- Name
The membership name.
- Membership State
The state of this membership in the membership workflow process (e.g., 'current', 'archived', 'pending moderation', etc.).
- Term
The term of this membership, as defined by the date the membership became effective and the date it will end. If this is a lifetime membership, the second value in the pair will be 'Lifetime', rather than a specific date.
- Last Modified
The most recent date and time that the record of this membership was modified.
- Memberships Available to Add

Select the type(s) of membership you want to add.
Important
Membership types and their associated roles govern user access and administrative rights to the protected areas of a site, so by assigning a membership to a user, you are also conferring a certain level of web site access privileges on this user.
Each user can have one or many membership types.
The following fields are displayed for each type of available membership:
- Membership Type
The name of the membership type.
- Fee
If KaviŽ Billing is installed and this membership type has a fee, then the fee for this membership will be displayed in this field.
- Duration
The length of time that this membership lasts.
- Start Date
Use this option to manually override the start date that would otherwise be applied automatically as the membership is processed, or leave it blank to have the effective date automatically calculated once the membership renewal process is complete.
Use this page to review details of the workflow process for this membership, and set the process for moderated or fee-based membership types.
Options:
- Moderation

These options will be displayed if this is a moderated membership type. Select whether you would like all selected memberships to be automatically approved or to go through the usual moderation process.
- Yes, automatically approve this member
Set this option if you would like to automatically approve all selected memberships at this time.
- No, put this member in the moderation queue
Set this option put all selected memberships through the usual moderation process.
- Billing

If KaviŽ Billing is installed and this is a fee-based membership type, the following default options may be presented, along with any other applicable payment methods specific to your site's configuration:
- 'Yes, issue a bill for this member to pay'
Select this option if you would like this membership to go through the regular billing process.
- 'No receipt needed. Add this member without issuing a bill.'
Select this option if you would like to skip the billing process.
You have just added one or more memberships for this individual. Depending on the specified process, this membership may be in a pending state in the membership process, or, if you approved the membership and concluded any billing process or other prerequisites, this might be current.
The following fields are displayed:
- Renewed With
The membership type of this renewed membership.
- Term
The term of this membership, as defined by the date the membership became effective and the date it will end. If this is a lifetime membership, the second value in the pair will be 'Lifetime', rather than a specific date.
- Bill

If KaviŽ Billing is installed and this membership type has a fee, then the billing information for this membership will be displayed in this field:
The status of the bill, as defined in KaviŽ Billing. This can be one of several default values.
The amount of the membership fee.
- Membership State
The state of this membership in the membership workflow process (e.g., 'current', 'archived', 'pending moderation', etc.).
- Membership Status Page
Click the Public Membership Status Page link if you would like to view a confirmation page regarding the status of this membership.
