Chapter 86. Add Company Activity Record

Overview

The Add Company Activity Record tool allows administrators to add an activity record to a company's activity history. This activity record is only accessible to administrators.

How to use the Add Company Activity Record tool

Search

Search for a company or set of companies by setting any or all of the optional fields to refine the search criteria. To view all available companies, leave the search fields set to the default values. If you set search criteria in more than one field, the results will only show companies that match all search criteria.

Options

Company

Enter a full or partial value for the company name. The default is 'Any Company'.

Current Status

Set this value to search for companies with this status type. This can be 'Active' or 'Inactive', or use the default value 'Any Status' to retrieve both active and inactive companies.

Purpose

Set this value to search for companies with a specific purpose: 'Member Company', 'Company for Individual Members', 'Nonmember' or 'Staff or Administration'. If set to the default, 'Any Purpose', the search results will not be restricted by purpose.

Company Type

Set this value to search for companies with this specific type, or use the default value 'All Company Types' to retrieve all types of companies.

Select

Select the company for whom you would like to add an activity record.

Add

Provide the information you would like to add to this activity record, then click Add. Certain fields are prefilled, including 'Origination' and 'Submitter's Username'.

Fields:

Date

The date of the event to which this activity record pertains. This defaults to the current date, but if you are adding an activity record for an event that happened in the past, such as a comment explaining a change that was already made to this company's information, you may set this value to the date that the information was changed.

Origination

Automatically set to Admin Addition.

Submitter's Username

Automatically set to the username of the company representative entering the record.

Company

The full name of this company is displayed.

Activity Type

Select from one of several default activity types (e.g., 'Comment', 'Edit', 'Reminder'), or an activity type specific to this organization.

Activity Note

Add a note to this company's record. This note will be visible to administrators only, and can be viewed using the Company Activity History tool.

Done

You've just added an activity note to this company's activity history! Click Add Another to add another activity record.
