Chapter 87. Company Representative Applications

Overview

The Company Representative Applications tool allows administrators to view and moderate company representative applications that are in a pending state and approve or deny applications, either singly or in bulk.

There are two tools that allow you to manage company representative applications. Use this tool to moderate applications in bulk, or click the Manage Application link to manage a specific application using the Manage a Company Representative Application tool.

Use the Company Representative Applications page to:

  • Approve or deny company representative applications in bulk.

  • Access a tool that allows you to view detailed information about a specific company representative application, approve or deny this application and send an email notification.

How to use the Company Representative Applications tool

Search for a user or set of users by setting any or all of the optional fields to refine the search criteria. To view all available users, leave the search fields set to the default values. If you set search criteria in more than one field, the results will only show users that match all search criteria.

Options

Name or Email

Enter a full or partial value for the first name, last name, username or email address of the user or group of users whose information you want to view, or leave this field blank to see all users who meet your search criteria. To increase the number of potential matches, expand the search by entering a partial value in this field and consider leaving other search fields set to the default values. To reduce the number of potential matches, provide more complete values in this field and consider setting other fields to further restrict the search.

Because the Kavi Members search functionality can perform partial matches, it is flexible and can serve many purposes. Here are a few examples:

  • Want to find all users who share an email domain? Enter just the domain portion of the email address.

  • Unable to find a user by name or email address? Perhaps it has been misspelled. Enter the first few letters of the name or email address and try the search again.

  • Not sure if the person for whom you are searching is named Dan Johnson or John Danson? You could enter 'Dan'—or 'John'—to find this individual.

Company

Set this value to search for users by the company with which they are associated. The default is 'Any Company.'

Current Status

Set this value to search for users with this status type. This can be 'Active' or 'Inactive', or use the default value 'Any Status' to retrieve both active and inactive users.

Display Size

Select the number of company representatives that you would like to see displayed per page.

Select

A tabular list of membership applications that meet your search criteria is displayed.

The list contains the following fields:

Applicant

The name of the individual applying for membership.

Manage Application

A link to a tool that will allow you to manage this application individually.

Company

The company this user represents.

Email

This user's email address. It is important that an email address be added whenever possible, be correct and kept up-to-date. If an email address is incorrect or absent, the user won't be able to receive Members email or be automatically subscribed to the usual mailing lists.

Last Modified

A date indicating the last time the user's information changed.

Approve

Click this option to approve an application.

Deny

Click this option to deny an application.

You have two options for managing these applications:

Moderate applications in bulk

To moderate multiple applications, click 'Approve' or 'Deny' for each applicant you wish to moderate, then click Preview.

Note

Applications denied through this bulk moderation process are immediately deleted, and automated email notification will not be sent. If you wish to send an automated email, use the Manage Application link.

Manage an application individually

To manage a single application, click the Manage Application link.

Note

Use this link if you wish to send automated email notification or edit the applicant's record.

Moderate

All pending applications retrieved in your search are redisplayed according to the type of action you selected:

  • Approve These Applications

  • Deny These Applications

  • Ignore These Applications

If you are satisfied that these applications have been moderated correctly, click Moderate.

Done

You've just moderated a set of company representative applications!
