Chapter 96. Manage Templates

Overview

Customize the email and form templates used by Kavi Members to convey your organization's message. Use variables to include information from the database in email sent to users and company representatives. Edits to templates will take effect immediately and will show up the next time Kavi Members uses that template. You may also add custom email templates to use with the Send Template-based Email and Schedule Renewal Reminders tools.

There are three major types of templates. Required User and Company Email templates, Custom User and Company templates and Page Text templates. All the templates stored by Kavi Members can be edited, but only custom templates can be added and deleted.

Use the Manage Templates page to:

  • Customize your organization's message.

  • Add a new Custom Template.

  • Edit a Template.

  • Delete a Template.

How to use the Manage Templates page

The list of templates is divided by template types, including custom email templates for users and companies, required email templates for users and companies, and page text templates. Each row shows a template's unique name, a description of when it is used, and the partial text of the template. All the templates stored by Kavi Members can be edited, but only custom templates can be added and deleted.

Add a new Template

You can add new templates for use with the Send Template-Based email tools and in the schedule of renewal reminders. To add a new custom template, click the 'Add a Custom User Template' or 'Add a Custom Company Template' link.

Edit a Template

To edit a template, click the Edit link.

Delete a Template

Only custom user and custom company templates can be deleted. To delete a template, click the Delete link. You will then be able to review the template to make sure it is the one you wish to delete before permanently deleting it from the database.
