The OASIS Media Relations Policy is designed to ensure clear, factual communications and protect the interests of all members. This Policy pertains to press releases, analyst reports, contributed articles, presentations at conferences, and any official communications with the media or in a public forum regarding OASIS technical work. The Policy applies to OASIS members, liaisons, and all other third parties without discrimination or favor.
Any press release that mentions OASIS, OASIS Technical Committees, and/or OASIS Standards or specifications, should be submitted to the OASIS Director of Communications for review prior to distribution. This advance notification ensures that OASIS will be able to respond positively to any press or analyst inquiries we may receive in connection with referenced announcements. It is a policy OASIS practices reciprocally.
All press releases announcing OASIS technical work are authorized and distributed by OASIS exclusively.
Third parties are encouraged to issue press releases, author articles, and deliver public presentations that discuss OASIS technical work and/or announce products that support OASIS Standards or specifications, provided the technical work referenced has already been officially announced by OASIS, either through an OASIS press release or posting on the OASIS web site.
Organizations or individuals who wish to announce technology submissions to OASIS Technical Committees must have reviewed and formally accepted the OASIS Intellectual Property Rights Agreement. These announcements must be approved by the OASIS Director of Communications and must not precede official OASIS announcements. OASIS Technical Committee chairs are not authorized to approve third party press releases on behalf of OASIS or their specific OASIS Technical Committees.
OASIS welcomes requests to provide quotes for press releases issued by members or liaison organizations, however, OASIS does not specifically endorse any company or product.
OASIS issues joint press releases with non-commercial organizations only.
Third parties that wish to issue press releases referencing OASIS members must obtain authorization from those organizations directly.
Questions on the OASIS Media Relations Policy should be sent to Carol Geyer, carol.geyer@oasis-open.org, Director of Communications, OASIS.
